RADIO SUD AMERICA, founder of ARCHI.

Casabianca Don Manuel Latorre. Radio

South America is Chile's oldest station in continuous transmissions from August 18, 1929. It was founded by Don Manuel Casabianca Latorre, who built the first transmission equipment, was also the first speaker, and personally directed more than 65 years, until the day of his death which occurred on January 13, 1994.

Don Manuel Casabianca was a man who lived intensely happy early years of radio in Chile. This was a pioneer in moving the microphones outside the studios, making transmissions from the Teatro Municipal of Santiago, were memorable broadcasts of the "Month of Mary" from Temple of San Francisco, Santiago de Chile, as well as transmissions were warmly applauded from the Fifth Recreation "The Rose Garden", "Las Brisas", "Las Higueras", "Santa Lucia" where the youth of yesterday had fun dancing and witnessing the performances of various artists.

As anecdotal include the transmission outside of studies done by Manuel Casabianca on July 31, 1933, on the occasion of the celebration of his marriage to Ms. Elena Porcile.

Moreover, Don Manuel Casabianca, with vision and enthusiasm of youth was part of the team broadcaster who gave birth to the first association of broadcasters in Chile, today "Archie" and became its first secretary.

files in the old Radio South America, finds the manuscript of his own hand, the Act of Constitution of the Chilean Association of Broadcaster, now presented as a respectful tribute to a pioneer forgotten radiotelephony Chile, with whom I worked for 30 years.

far the original record, handwritten by Don Manuel Casabianca Latorre. Historical document preserved in the archives of Radio South America, Santiago de Chile.

Later in the year 1935, Don Manuel Casabianca attended the "First South American Congress of Radio", held in Buenos Aires, time he got to Chile the nomination of 8 international channels.

These corresponded to 8 channels of radio spectrum frequencies that could only be used by stations in Chile, in order not to be interfered with by neighboring stations.

These channels corresponded to the frequencies: 570, 660, 760, 1,060, 1,140, \u200b\u200b1300, 1380 and 1500 kHz.
